Makeup Modeling 化妝模特兒

Recently I have time to explore many things and I happened to hook up with people who need makeup models for practice. There are a lot of makeup students or makeup-artist-to-be who want different kinds of models to practise their skills. And models don't have to be a "super model", just ordinary people as, the makeup artists would have to face ordinary people so the real work is to get it right with normal girls.

I've done it 3 times so far and get some more requests in the coming weeks. Basically you just sit there and have the makeup students to do your makeup, and sometimes hair as well. Most of the requests I've got are wedding makeup. But I've done a funny one which was a 50's makeup which made me look quite ghosty hehe. Hey don't take it too seriously, as it's just makeup. If you don't like it, wipe it away and you can go home. The students won't mind it because they only need you there for practice.

The good thing about being a makeup model is that you can try different makeup style and tricks as every makeup artist has their own tricks of trade. Also if you are observant enough you can learn a few new tips. You can even ask them how to do a certain trick and I'm sure they are more than happy to teach you that (because makeup models usually don't get any fees...)

So how to be a makeup model? Just go to google or facebook and search. There are many groups that look for models. And you don't have to have perfect skin or best features as, like I said, they need people with different looks to do the job. But, as someone who worked with models myself for many years, there are some things that you have to bare in mind if you want to try this fun modeling thing. Firstly, remember you're a model not a client, so whatever the makeup artist do on your face, except it's hurting you or doing something that you cannot erase, please let the artist do it. YOU CAN AWAYS WIPE THE MAKEUP AWAY! Your job there is to be the canvas for the artist to practice. Also, be on time as most of the time they book you to a class so if you are late, the teacher will start without you and your makeup artist will miss a lot of steps while the other classmates are already doing what the teacher's been telling them to do.

Who shouldn't try to be a makeup model? Obviously those who have very sensitive skin or allergic to makeup, or are very uncomfortable with not being able to control what others do to their face (or hair. don't worry they won't cut your hair. they'd just put it up or something).

最近比較清閒，所以有時間去嘗試不同的東西。因緣際會跟學化妝的朋友認識了，當了幾次化妝/練妝模特兒。其實有很多學化妝的朋友或將成為化妝師的朋友都需要各式的模特兒來練習。而這些模特兒並不需要是"超模"，平凡人如我也可擔當。因為這些朋友們面對的客戶都將會是普通人，所以他們找練習的模特兒都是普通女孩子就可以了。

到現時我已做過三次化妝模特兒。在未來數星期亦會再做多幾次。工作方面嘛，主要就是坐著讓化妝學生們幫你化妝，或造髮型設計。大多數學生都是練習新娘化妝的，但我亦有做過一個50年代妝練習的，很有鬼味很搞笑。不要太緊張啊，只是化妝。如果你不喜歡，是可以抹掉才回家的。學生們絕對不會介意，因為他們要你來的目的是練習。

做化妝模特兒的好處是可以試試不同化妝師的風格和技巧。每位化妝師都有自己的獨們技巧，如果你肯留心你更可以學到一招半式。你甚至可以請教他們，他們一定落於賜教，因為你當他們的模特兒是不收分文的呀!

那麼怎樣成為化妝模特兒呢？其實在Google或Facebook搜尋你就可找到很多正在尋找化妝模特兒的組織。你亦不需要有絕頂好皮膚或完美五官才可勝任，因為正如我所說，學生們需要各式各樣的模特兒才能真正的練習啊。不過要做模特兒，你要緊記以下兩點。第一，你要記住，作為模特兒你並非顧客。除非學生們的動作會傷害你的臉或令事情不能補救，否則讓他們化罷!化妝是抹得去的不要怕啊!你的工作是當藝術家的畫紙。此外，請你要盡時。因為如果是上課的話，你遲到了老師都會繼續講課的。那請你來的同學就慘了，別人都做了老師所教的，他還是在等你，會拖累你化妝師的進度呢!

那麼哪些人不宜做化妝模特兒？就是那些皮膚很易敏感的人，或是很不慣任人擺佈的人罷。(不要怕，就選他們要幫你做髮型，都不會幫你剪髮的)。
